Birthdays & Playing Tour Guide
28 Jul
So, I have been avoiding the internet, but not really. I have been so busy doing not internet related things. This past Sunday (the 22nd) was my birthday, so the whole week leading up to it, I was relatively busy spending time with my boyfriend, doing birthday related activities, and getting my house clean for my parents arrival.
The Friday for my birthday comes and my parents arrive in the afternoon and I will say that Friday was pretty decent. I convinced my parents to go to my favorite restaurant in the city, Heavy Seas Ale House. It turned out to be a really good thing because my parents enjoyed everything and seemed to have an Ok time. Saturday rolls around and my parents and I head into DC for a daytrip. I knew this was coming, but it is offically one of the worst days of my life (this makes the third one). It was a lot of drama with my mother and that is all I will say here. Sunday comes and it was nothing special. Just an ordinary day. My birthday was really disappointing this year. Meh. Oh well, there is always next year.
A couple days later, I go to New York City with Jesse, his roommate, and her boyfriend. It was absolutely terrible to start. Our bus gets a flat tire almost an hour into the trip and we are stopped at a rest stop for like an hour waiting on a new bus to come and get us to take us into NYC.
We get into the city about 4:30 instead of the 2:30 that was originally scheduled. So, that means we didn’t really have a lot of time to do everything as planned. After miscommunication and some abandonment problems, our first stop was the Japanese bookstore that I adore. I didn’t do too much damage in there this time. I surprised myself, honestly. Then we were on to Nintendo World, Lego Store, and then FAO Schwarz (which was closed by the time we got there). After all that, we took the train into Times Square and hit up Sanrio for cute goodness. By the time we did all that and found some random place to grab a bite (not me I was too tired to eat), it was time to head to the bus stop to wait.
The bus ride home was miserably boring as usual. We got back into Baltimore around 3:30am and back to Jesse’s place around 4am where I immediately showered and then passed out. Minus the few hiccups we had, I enjoyed the trip to NYC, but I will admit, I would much rather go by myself. Is that weird?
Other than that, the rest of the week still felt kinda busy and I don’t know why. I didn’t sleep in my own bed until Friday night. One of those nights, I was at my house but I slept on the air mattress in the basement with Jesse. We were kicked out of his house because his roommate wanted alone time with her boy toy (he was visiting from out of town).
I am looking forward to my normal routine and maybe a little more sleep.

Happy belated birthday, Kerri! Sorry it didn’t seem very special, but it was special, because it was YOUR. BIRTHDAY. That being said, I hope you have more fun next year.
