Anchor bitten by dog
16 Feb
I don’t know if you people have heard, but a Denver anchor was bitten in the face by a Argentina Mastiff while on the air. Here is a news article from Yahoo, for all of my two readers to check out. Now, they say that they have cited the owner for violation of the leash law and not having the dog properly vaccinated and they’ve quarantined the dog for 10 days for evaluation.
Um.. yea. I watched the video of the actual dog bite (you can find it on youtube if you are dying to see it), and yea that lady had it coming to her. You could clearly see the dog was stressed and was going to react negatively. The anchor lady shouldn’t have went in for the kiss that led to reconstructive surgery. Learn to read body language, people!
If I see some cute looking dog on the street, regardless of size, I’m not gonna kneel down and get all up in its face and ask for kisses. I’ve been bit by a dog before and it wasn’t pleasant.. wasn’t my fault or anything. I was a kid at my grandparent’s house and I was out playing when all of a sudden this strange, aggressive dog comes out of nowhere charging at me. It bit me on the leg as I ran away. I was pretty much scared of any dog, for awhile after that, but obviously I have conquered my fear.
The whole thing makes me mad in general because they blame the dog & owner and not the anchor. It just goes to show that people are ignorant when it comes to animals. Just because it looks cute & seems happy, doesn’t mean it really is.
I have so much I want to say about Pit Bulls and other breeds that are stereotyped into the “always aggressive” category, but I just don’t know where to begin and I’m just you all don’t want to hear me rant about it either.
Speaking of dogs, I’m going to go feed my little one now.
